I graduated from the Sopron Catering Secondary School in 1985, and I have been in love with my profession ever since. I don’t need any other hobbies!
After working for a few years as a waiter and as a personal assistant, I opened my first restaurant in Austria with my family. After a while, however, I did not find my place, and my heart wanted to get back to Hungary. There was no question that we would only think about hospitality at home. Then I heard the tip of the Hársfa being available to rent. Well, that was not it.
However, I had a good conversation with the then owner who eventually changed his mind, so in 1994 we moved home and took over the restaurant.
In 1996, it was time to connect our lives forever. It was then that I was thinking of creating something really special, unique and unrepeatable. I started with the appearance of the restaurant.
As a basic idea, I dreamed of a typical Great Plain party, that was later found to be wrong. With a lot of interior decorators, we tried dozens of ideas, we have modified the restaurant inside several times, but none were the real thing.
And then Ottó Hoffer came up with the idea of the old mill. I immediately fell in love with the plans, and to this day I am grateful to him for taking me from my dreams and creating this unique wonder in and outside that many other restaurants are trying to copy today.
Of course, this is not the only reason why Hársfa is considered as the “best restaurant in Móvár.” The authentic Hungarian and international dishes, the well-known, but yet re-created flavors and the enormous portions will not allow anyone to leave without culinary delights.
The menu is redeemed every six months / every year together with the main chef. Even the design phase is very exciting: we select the foods that are up to the current trends, we are looking at dozens of literatures, get our guests’ opinions, and then we just plan, think and cook for weeks. Everything should be perfect, harmonious and memorable, so you can get to the menu of the Hársfa Restaurant.
Of course, we also have our current seasonal offer which is related to the season, the time of the year or an upcoming holiday. The Goose Days, the Asparagus Days are a huge success, but the biggest success every year get the Wild Days.
The secret of our food is terribly easy:
